Have you ever met a Mugawump? I assure you they exist.

1 Corinthians 10:20-21 says: …I am saying that these sacrifices are offered to demons, not to God. And I don’t want you to participate with demons. You cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and from the cup of demons, too. You cannot eat at the Lord’s Table and at the table of demons, too. (NLT)

Matthew 6:24 says: “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

As followers of Jesus, we cannot have one foot in Christianity and the other foot in the world. We live in the world and function in it — but we are not from the world. We are not partners with the world.

It’s really not possible to live this way. At some point, you are just lying to yourself about who you really belong to.

I’ve known people like this; they talk like Christians around Christians but completely change when they are around worldly people. They even change their vocabulary to match their environment.

Are they really believers? I think so, at least in their heads. But are they followers? I don’t think so. Now, it’s not my place to judge, but actions speak louder than words and the way they live their life. I can assess this and come to a conclusion.

James 1:22-27 says: But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

Choose Jesus and follow His way! Straddling the fence is just painful.
