Weapons Of Our Warfare

 For though we live as human beings, we do not wage war according to human standards, for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down arguments and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

This verse informs us that we are not to use “weapons” in a literal sense. Our warfare is spiritual and requires spiritual weapons. The armor of God is a perfect example. We don’t walk around with this literal armor on, but we do put it on in a spiritual sense to protect us as we go about our daily lives. There is one exception, and that is the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. (Ephesians 6:10-17)

Perhaps you remember the story of the Israelites getting ready for battle with an enemy of God, and the Lord told them to put the singers in the front and praise the Lord as they went out to fight. The Lord handed the Israelites a mighty victory that day. 

Praise and worship are our weapons of warfare. We don’t fight the world with our words or accusations. We don’t beat them down and berate them with our mouths. Conviction is the work of the Holy Spirit, not us. We carry a message of Love and peace from our heavenly Father to the world.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17

When we worship, God moves in the unseen, spiritual realm, but that is not our focus. Our focus is Jesus. We worship Him, and He moves in mighty ways.
