Sometimes I pray like I am hoping God will answer.
Moses learned how to pray, and he had the burning bush experience. God knew that He had to make Himself real to Moses; in fact, when asked His name, God told Moses His name was “I Am”. Just to ponder that name has filled volumes of books.
Jesus himself broke away from the crowds and His closest friends to pray alone in private. He was one with the Father and found it necessary in this world to pray often.
If He needed it, then I should do the same.
Mark 11:24 says, For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. This isn’t just a suggestion; it is written as a command.
We are told to be succinct in our petitions, not to babble on and on. And sometimes we are urged to pray for the same thing again and again. Remember, Daniel prayed three times each day for 21 days and finally received his answer. Why? The angel bringing the answer had to fight a fierce battle before he could get to Daniel. So our prayers may also assist in spiritual warfare.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says simply, Pray without ceasing. So when I pray, I need to pray like I believe it. Be encouraged, the answer is already on the way.
