In Jesus Name

In Jesus Name

In John 14:13-14, Jesus says, “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

Jesus is very specific here: ask anything in my name, and I will do it! What a promise. In the context of these verses, Jesus promises that the gift of the Holy Spirit will come and live in each of them: another phenomenal promise. We are not alone in our journey on this earth.

Another command that is repeated in this section of scripture is to love one another as Jesus has loved us. He tells the disciples that those who keep his commands are the ones who truly love him. If we love him, we will love one another also and keep his commands. Then he tells them again that they will ask anything in his name and he will do it. In fact, they will do even greater things than what they have seen.

Philippians 2:5-11, You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had, who, though he existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature. He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross! As a result, God exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow – in heaven and on earth and under the earth – and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

There is so much in these verses: love, power, an Advocate (the Holy Spirit), and obedience! We don’t have because we don’t ask (James 4:2)

If we want to see miracles in our time, we must ask in Jesus Name, all for the glory of God!
