I’m So Confused

God, I Don’t Get It

My Pastor has expressed this concept many times. He says that it’s okay when we don’t get it, and we can tell God. In fact, He’s the best place to take this sentiment.

This is where faith comes in. “God, I don’t get it, but I trust You.”

Abraham didn’t know the mountain he was told to go to so he could offer his sacrifice; he didn’t know how God would bring Isaac back to him after he had sacrificed him. But he trusted that God’s ways are far beyond our understanding.

Gideon had no idea how he would fight a battle with only 300 men, but he trusted God for the outcome. When the army blew their trumpets and broke their pitchers, raising their torches high, God caused the Midianites to be confused, running in every direction and killing each other. Not only did Gideon have only 300 men, but they never raised a sword. The LORD won the battle because of their obedience.

The widow who had just enough flour to make one more cake, then she and her son would die of starvation, by faith, made the cake for Elijah. Every time the widow reached into the flour canister, there was just enough flour for the next cake. She didn’t get it either, but she trusted God and obeyed His instructions.

In faith, Rahab housed the spies from Israel and assisted them in taking the city for the LORD, thereby saving her and her family. She didn’t get it, but she trusted the God of Israel. There are many more examples in the Bible. The truth is that we don’t always understand what God is doing, but we can trust Him. He has our best interests at heart

God, I don’t get it, but I trust You.
