This is a prophetic WORD from the LORD to the Israelites. They have been living their lives as if they could do anything and then just be forgiven because God surely wouldn’t condemn them or harm them. But Micah 1:2 says, “Listen, all you nations! Pay attention, all inhabitants of Earth! The sovereign LORD will testify against you; the LORD will accuse you from his majestic palace.” And Micah 2:3 says: Therefore the LORD says this: ‘Look, I am devising disaster for this nation! It will be like a yoke from which you cannot free your neck. You will no longer walk proudly, for it will be a time of catastrophe.’ This sounds so harsh.
Micah goes on to say in verses 3-4 that the LORD is going to leave Heaven and march on the earth’s mountaintops. Then the mountains “will disintegrate beneath him, and the valleys will be split in two. The mountains will melt like wax in a fire, the rocks will slide down like water cascading down a steep slope.”
The day is coming, my friends. Will we believe what pleases our ears, or what the WORD of God says? We cannot walk in both paths.
It’s time for Christians to stand up for the WORD of God on social and political topics such as abortion, transgender issues, and homosexuality. At the same time, we must see those caught in these sins as people whom God loves. He wants to see them free! (Let the one without sin cast the first stone.)
Today, the Temple Mount is a place of conflict and battle over who it belongs to, the Jews or the Muslims. This is the place where Jesus will set His foot and end the conflict once and for all. Let us be among those He will find faithful!
