I Love You

There are a great many topics in the Bible that are difficult to talk about, BUT the LOVE OF GOD is not one of them. Love is the number one topic of the Bible.

There are over 700 places where love is mentioned in the Bible. An entire chapter is dedicated to the subject in 1 Corinthians. That’s more love than rules!

Love is the subject of the message of God. Because He first loved us, He sent His only son to offer His life for our life sentence for sin.

We were convicted of sin and sentenced to eternal death when Adam and Eve sinned and therefore allowed sin to enter the then-perfect world. We were condemned and sentenced at that moment. We were born condemned to death.

BUT, God has a book in which our names are registered on the day of our conception. It remains there until we either accept His offer of redemption or reject Him, at that point, the Bible says our name is blotted out if we reject Jesus as our replacement for our sentence.

What a loving God, to act as if we are totally His until we actively reject Him.

Even after we reject Him and His Son He continues to woo us into a loving relationship with Himself. He doesn’t give up hope that we will turn to Him and accept the gift of the price Jesus has already paid on our behalf.

Grace and peace to you from “he who is,” and who was, and who is still to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ – the faithful witness, the firstborn from among the dead, the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has set us free from our sins at the cost of his own blood and has appointed us as a kingdom, as priests serving his God and Father – to him be the glory and the power for ever and ever! Amen. Revelation 1:4-6

We can love Him without reservation because He loved us first, before we were even born, and paid our debt for our sentence of death, with His own life. You can have your sentence reversed to one of eternal life simply by accepting Jesus because of His death in our place.

For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the giftof God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
