Water into Wine

I Don’t Need To Understand

When I trust You, I don’t need to understand what You are doing. Some people call this blind trust, and I suppose it is, but Jesus can be trusted. He will never let me down. Oh, I might not get the answer to my prayer, which is either not in His will for me or not at the right time. But in the end, He will never let me down!

Brooke Ligertwood wrote a song titled “New Wine,” which I have referred to before in this blog. In the lyrics, there is a line that says, Where there is new wine, there is new power.” At the wedding in Cana, where Jesus turned the water into wine, Jesus performed the first miracle of His ministry. You probably know the story, the people commented that most hosts bring out the good stuff at the beginning. After the people have gotten drunk, the host brings out the cheap stuff.

Jesus’ wine is the best! It was the good stuff. When I put my life back on the altar and surrender everything to God, He can bring new wine out of my life. New power, new revelation (backed up by the Word of God,) and fresh anointing. Oh, that’s what I want in my life.

This new wine requires ongoing surrender on my part. I can’t remain the same and be changed. For Jesus to bring new wine out of my life, my water has to be miraculously changed. I have to surrender and change. Romans 11:36 says this in the NIV, For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. I am created by God for His glory, so I want to glorify Him with my entire being.

I can’t do any of this work on my own! It has to be a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit in my life. God won’t leave me on my own in the journey, He is there every step of the way. 2 Timothy 4:18 says, The Lord will deliver me from every evil deed and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever! Amen.

God created us with free will, we always have the choice to follow His will or our own. Joshua presented this choice to the people of Isreal in chapter 24, verse 15; If you have no desire to worship the LORD, choose today whom you will worship, whether it be the gods whom your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But I and my family will worship the LORD!

I have decided to serve and surrender to Jesus!
