Heaven
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear Heaven? Is it the streets paved with gold? Is it lush gardens filled with colors we have never seen? What image does heaven bring to your mind?

We have some insight into Heaven in the Bible. In Revelation chapters 21-22 It is described as having streets of gold, gates of pearl, and walls made of precious stones. The city is said to be brilliantly illuminated by the glory of God, where there is no need for the sun or moon. There is also the river of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb through the middle of the city’s main street. In John 14 we are told that there are many mansions in Heaven and that God is preparing a place for us.

Revelation also tells us Heaven has no death, sorrow, crying, or pain. It is a beautiful place. Who wouldn’t want to go there? But Heaven is also repeatedly described throughout scripture as the dwelling place of God!

Revelation 5:11-14 describes Heaven like this: Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels in a circle around the throne, as well as the living creatures and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand – thousands times thousands – all of whom were singing in a loud voice: “Worthy is the lamb who was killed to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature – in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them – singing: “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and ruling power forever and ever!” And the four living creatures were saying “Amen,” and the elders threw themselves to the ground and worshiped.

This depiction clearly shows us that we will beises and worshipping God day and night around Hi singing our pras throne. I don’t know if there will be dancing, but I think there will be. When God shows us His glory, or we enter Heaven when our time on earth is completed, we will see God fully. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see in a mirror indirectly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known.

Is Heaven going to be beyond spectacular? Absolutely! Will we spend eternity praising God and worshipping Him? I look forward to the day I can see God face-to-face and worship Him.
