Luke 1:28-33 says The angel came to her and said, ‘Greetings, favored one, the Lord is with you!” But she was greatly troubled by his words and began to wonder about the meaning of this greeting. So the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God! Listen: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will never end.“
Ephesians 1:7-10says In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight. He did this when he revealed to us the secret of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, toward the administration of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ – the things in heaven and the things on earth.
It’s mind-boggling to think about the atmosphere Jesus left in order to come to Earth. He left perfection, where sin cannot reign, and entered our reality, where sin dominates. He left Heaven for us! BUT — He brought Heaven into the Earth’s atmosphere with Him.
For those who have accepted Jesus’ offer of forgiveness of sin, we have a little bit of Heaven too; we have Jesus’ presence with us.
