Judge or Savior

God: Judge or Savior?

Recently in church, the speaker said that God is the Judge, but He would rather be the Savior.

Is God the Judge, or is He a merciful Savior? The answer is Yes! He is both the ultimate Judge and the merciful Savior. Jesus left perfection and entered a human body, living it for 33 years to experience life as we do.

Jesus lived as fully human and fully God – this is a concept that is difficult to grasp. Nonetheless, it is true. The Bible says that Jesus was tempted in every way just like we are, yet He was able to endure without sinning. I wish I could say that about myself.

Yes, Jesus is the Judge of all things and people. Yes, we have all sinned and fallen short of His glorious standards. Finally, yes, Jesus is our merciful Savior. He knows the struggles that we face. He knows how challenging it is to live a truthful, honest life. He knows what it takes to put others ahead of yourself.

So, to sum it up, Jesus is the ultimate Judge, but He is also our merciful Savior. He stands ready to intercede on our behalf.
