In the book of Exodus, God is delivering the people of Israel from Egyptian rule. After 10 painful plagues, Pharaoh finally let the people go. The whole of Israel arrived at the Red Sea and saw no escape from the Army chasing after them.
In Exodus 14:9,10 it says that the Egyptian army overtook the Israelites, and then they cried out to the LORD. And then they complained and blamed Moses for their sure demise.
Verse 14:13-15 says:
Moses said to the people, “Do not fear!Stand firmand see the salvation of the LORD that he will provide for you today; for the Egyptians that you see today, you will never, ever see again. The LORD will fight for you, and you can be still.” The LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.
And you know the rest of the story.
Even if the phrase “Fear Not” only appeared once in the Bible, there is no place for fear in the Kingdom of God. (Except the fear that causes us to remove ourselves from an unsafe situation.)
Yet we do at times feel fear. Why? Because we are humans. BUT we are humans with a mighty God behind and before us.
Psalm 119:2-7, 16,17: You know when I sit down or stand up.You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I traveland when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to sayeven before I say it, LORD. You go before me and follow me.You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,too great for me to understand! I can never escape from your Spirit!I can never get away from your presence! You saw me before I was born.Every day of my life was recorded in your book.Every moment was laid outbefore a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.They cannot be numbered! (NET)
