A Disconnect

Chaos

I am a Mac user, I have been since the 90’s when I was introduced to them. Previously, I was a PC user. I had the privilege of being one of the first PC users for inventory and ordering processes in the 80’s, I even met one of the programmers from IBM. He taught me how to make a game in color on the PC. My computer background is extensive and storied, but I have learned a great deal through the process.

In 2022, I bought a new computer, and since that point, I have had to take it in for serious problems. This is very uncharacteristic for a Mac in my experience. The Logic board has been replaced twice. I have had to wipe the computer clean and start from scratch more times than I can count, trying to resolve the problem I’m having.

The problem exists between the hardware and the software connection somewhere. I think there’s a component inside the physical framework that is not communicating clearly with the software processor. Somewhere there’s a disconnect.

This can be said about our spiritual lives sometimes. We get clogged up inside and experience a disconnect between us and our Savior. It happens over time; we let busyness overtake our time with Jesus. We allow personal relationships to cloud our perspective of our relationship with the Father. Why is this? Somewhere there’s a disconnect.

Unlike my computer situation, we can cry out to Jesus in the chaos, and He will intervene! It doesn’t matter how far or how long I’ve been in a state of disconnect, He is always ready to step into my situation and rescue me. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

When I am at my wits’ end with my computer, I take it to the genius to get it fixed. When I am at the end of trying to do life on my own, I go to The Genius for a reset. He is only a whisper away and waiting for the call for help. I can trust Jesus.
