I am a believer in Jesus. There is no doubt about that. I know that God and Jesus are real; I have experienced His presence and direction in my life. I just want to establish that at the beginning of this post. But sometimes I have moments of doubt. Do you ever experience this?
I know in those moments of doubt that I can fall back on God’s Word and HIs truth. I find that so comforting. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Teacher. He never leaves me in the dark; there are always the footprints of God just ahead of me. But sometimes I have moments of doubt.
What if it’s all just make-believe? What if when I die, there’s nothing? What if heaven isn’t real? These are questions that sneak into my thoughts sometimes, and I have doubts.
Here’s the truth: We all have doubts sometimes. We all experience these sneaky little attacks of the enemy. Job knew about the acts of the enemy to try to derail him, but he never gave up; he knew God was real.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says, For though we live as human beings, we do not wage war according to human standards, for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down arguments and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.
We tear down… By putting on the armor of God we can stand against these sneaky doubts. When these pesky doubts come in, I take them captive and make my thoughts be obedient to Jesus. But sometimes I still have moments of doubt. Do you?
