An Architect is a person who designs and guides a plan or undertaking. It is both the process and the product of sketching, conceiving, planning, designing, and constructing buildings or other structures. God is the Architect of the Universe! He is also the Architect of me.
Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the LORD. ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.
I am in awe that the God who designed the Universe also designed me. I can’t put into words how awesome that makes me feel. God has a sketch of my entire life. He has been conceiving and planning it since way before I was born. So, in essence, my entire life is laid out in a blueprint by the Architect. I don’t build my own life, the Builder does. It would be silly for the blueprint to say to the Architect, “Hey, I’ve got this.” How often, as humans, do we do just that?
The Architect knows exactly what He is building from the plans He has constructed. For example; He knows if you are designed to be a male or female, the color of your skin, hair, and eyes. He knows if you will be a follower of a leader, all before you will be knit together in your mother’s womb.
Psalm 139:13-17 (NET) says Certainly you made my mind and heart; you wove me together in my mother’s womb. I will give you thanks because your deeds are awesome and amazing. You knew me thoroughly; my bones were not hidden from you, when I was made in secret and sewed together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was inside the womb. All the days ordained for me were recorded in your scroll before one of them came into existence. How difficult it is for me to fathom your thoughts about me, O God! How vast is their sum total!
Dear Architect, please put your heart into me so I may submit my stubborn will to Yours.
