Authority

 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth! Genesis 1:1

All authority belongs to God!

God is outside of time and space as we know it. He alone holds all authority. One word from Him, and everything changes. 

Genesis 1:3 says; God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light!

Think about that. Can you imagine what that short sentence must have sounded like? I bet it was very loud and commanding — And the universe appeared! God made everything out of nothing. That’s authority. 

Creation knows the voice of God, and darkness knows to fear it. So why should we worry about circumstances that we can put into the hands of this same mighty God?

To quote some lyrics by Brooke Ligertwood and John Wilds; 

“Will heaven not prevail and strongholds not be moved
Will spirits not be silenced and cower at His rule
For if my God is for me, then what have I to fear
And I will not deny Him the glory that is His”

Our role is to acknowledge His authority, His rule, and Him as the only true God. He will not be silenced when the time comes to put an end to the chaos on the earth. One word from Him will change everything.

Romans 14:11 says; For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to me, and every tongue will give praise to God alone. (NET)
